Blockade Runner Hotel in North Myrtle Beach- Review

April 2, 2015

My family booked our spring break trip to the Blockade Runner Hotel in North Myrtle Beach.

I did the usual and went online and read some reviews and saw they were great,

but still I was skeptical. I can handle a bad place if I am all alone(which never happens) but not when

the kids are with me I like to have higher standards.

You know no roaches, nasty room and nice staff ( a girl has to have some standards)

For years now I have passed the Blockade Runner as I traveled the short distance between Cherry

Grove and the Ocean Drive sections of North Myrtle Beach and

I always thought what a sweet looking place.

The outside is painted the prettiest shade of blue with pink accents and old style block work.

It made my heart sing.

This is the front of the building pic at night and as you can see its and older style place but just as

comfortable as the newer high rises that dot the beach front.

Loved the old style block work that sheltered the open hallways to the rooms.

All rooms at The Blockade Runner are ocean front and with only 5 floors it's a great view from any of

floor that you chose.

Lobby of Blockade Runner

The lobby had a nice beach feel about it with wicker furniture, nautical decor and music playing.

I really just thought about staying here it was so relaxing.

Coral color doors at Blockade Runner

You can't really tell the color from this pic but our room door was a pink/coral color and

guess what?? It used a real key. No key card but a real key!!

This is sunrise shot right of our 3rd floor balcony.

The Blockade Runner has now been added to our list of places to stay.

It is not the most expensive but, certainly not the cheapest in town.

The rooms were nice and very clean and comfortable.

I didn't get a pic of our room cause as soon as the door opened we started piling our bags inside.

We had a 2 King efficiency with a full size fridge, stove/oven and sink with pots, pans and silverware.

2 tables for eating and a nice size desk

The decor was fresh and updated and in this decade.

I love vintage things but vintage hotel furniture, not so much.

A nice oceanfront balcony with chairs and tables

for just sitting and enjoy the view and the sound of waves crashing.

The staff was very nice and helpful when needed.

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with room service and all the bells and whistles,

this is not the place for you.

If you are looking for comfort, great location to shopping and restaurants then this is for you.

I am including a link to the website here.

Happy Travels!!
